China - Day 14

Today the Bowers' family (all 5 of us) went to "Martyrs Park" & the Embroidery Shop.

The Park was magnificent and we got to se some Tie-Chi with swords (video available when we get home). The 3 women's moves were slow and graceful and beautiful to watch. Thinking maybe Violet and I will have to take it up. We saw some other older people doing something with what looked like a top. They were also doing some wonderful moves while tossing and catching this thing on the rope. Amazing to see. We also saw some ladies practicing what I would call Opera but when they saw us watching them, they moved on. The park was around this huge lake and and it had some magnificent chinese architectural bridges and pagodas. You'd have to see it to appreciate it.

The embroidery shop was amazing. In Violet and I's opinions, it was the best tourist location by far! The work was/is magnificent. Most of the pictures look like paintings, but they are embroidered silk. I had 2 favorite pieces. One was a 2 sided work of an old fashioned young Chinese woman siting outside. When you turned the work around, it was the back of her (Amazing work). The second was also a 2 sided work where on one side was of a tiger, but when you turned it around, it was a panda. Again, you'd have to see it to appreciate it.

As for the kids... JB did much better today. He still threw a few fits, but they didn't seem to last as long, and they were farther apart. He and Charity seemed to interact better today as well. They both still don't like sharing, but I think that is natural. Charity still tries to feed JB and pick him up when he falls, and console him when he's crying. He will occasionally take some snacks to Charity or some juice. All in all not to bad. Being cooped up in a small hotel room with limited space to play and release energy is getting on all of our nerves. All in all, then kids are doing great. I'm very proud of my babies!!

Tomorrow afternoon, we will be leaving for Guangzhou. this will be the last extended stop here in China. The kids will be getting health inspections and this is where we will be getting their Visa's to come into America. When we're done there, its just a train ride to Hong Kong, then a 12 hour flight to LA and then into Denver.
