Beijing - Day 2
Today we went to the Jade Factory, the Great Wall, The Beijing 2008 Olympic stadium (The Birds Nest) and an acrobatic show. WAY to much fun for one day.
The Jade Factory was fantastic. I did not know that Jade comes in so many colors. I was amazed to see what these artists can do with it. Of course we didn't buy anything because it was all too expensive for us (laugh).
The Great Wall was also VERY exciting!! I don't think the Incline back home has anything on this (laugh). Because of the upcoming holidays in China, there were a lot more people and it was very difficult to get around those who chose to just stop and breath or take pictures. At times it was too narrow for one way traffic let alone people coming back down. If you wanted to pass someone, you took your life in you own hands. I would not have traded the Great Wall experience for anything!!
The Olympic stadium was also very impressive. To stand there and see the stadium that we had seen on television and to re-experience those Olympic games!! It might have been more fun if I wasn't so tired form Climbing the Great Wall.
The acrobatic show was AMAZING!! The best trick is one I had seen on TV some time back. They put 5 motorcycles in this round cage and they did some amazing tricks without hitting each other. The red neck side of me was kind of hoping to see a crash (The only reason I watch Nascar sometimes).
Tomorrow we leave for JB's province and then the next day we pick him up (YEAH!!!!). Life as we currently know will be over and a new chapter in our lives will have begun.

After all of these years of not seeing you both, I still feel as if I know you - and I am not surprised at this turn in your lives. I truly think one of you should write a biography - or at least thinly disguised fiction - about your journey together from youth to now...
Wow i am so happy for you guys.. i miss you all so much.. have so much fun getting JB tomorrow.... thanks for keeping us updated <3 <3
SO excited for your new chapter!!!! You guys look like you are having an amazing time - its surreal isnt it? Being in the country where your youngest children ARE!!! You will soon hold that little boy in your arms!! Praying for JB's transition to be smooth!!
